We’d like to share a story with you here, as a record of one unforgettable point in time on our farm.

Yesterday, a wildfire crossed over to our field.

Someone set his cornfield on fire, right behind our farm.

He probably did not prepare the fire barrier properly.

Someone was careless enough to follow an easy route.

Regardless of how much we protected ourselves, it wasn’t enough.

The fire spilled over to our land.

It spread through our field within half an hour.

Many areas on our farm were almost burnt down:

the barn, the chicken coop,

some trees, our pineapple orchard,

a few beehives and some wild herbs.

Luckily, we were able to put out the fire in time.

Everything was safe in the end.

Although it was the worst thing we’ve ever seen in the past 15 years since we started our farm,

we felt it was a sign of a new beginning in life.

We learned our lesson and realized how important it is to be able to stand on our own two feet.

As long as we still have the strength and enough awareness,

we will withstand difficult times.

We saw our neighbors who, in normalcy, are far from what we have hoped them to be.

But in times like this, they showed up and helped us with everything they could.

We saw our little Ginger grow up, full of strength and courage. She proved herself able to take care of herself and others.

Sometimes, life only wants us to know that…

by going through difficulties, 

we see the reality in life.

And sometimes, life tells us that miracles do exist:

It is what we build with our own hands with full trust in ourselves, and all the goodness that exist in the world. 

อยากเล่าเอาไว้ในนี้ เป็นเหมือนการบันทึกเรื่องราวในชีวิต  

เมื่อวานนี้ไฟลามเข้าไร่

มีคนจุดเผาไร่ซากข้าวโพดด้านหลังไร่เรา แล้วเขาคงจะไม่ได้ทำแนวกันไฟ

เป็นความมักง่ายของคน ที่ไม่ได้คิดถึงคนอื่นและประมาท

ถึงเราจะระวังแค่ไหนก็คงไม่พอ

ทำให้ไฟลามเข้ามาในไร่เรา

และไหม้ลามไปทั่วไร่

เกือบจะไหม้ในหลายๆจุด

ทั้งโรงนา เล้าไก่

มีต้นไม้ป่า แปลงสัปปะรด

ผึ้งมิ้มหลายรังกับสมุนไพรป่าบางอย่างที่ถูกไฟไหม้

โชคดีที่ดับทัน

แต่ทุกอย่างก็รอดปลอดภัย

ทั้งๆที่เป็นสถานการณ์ที่เลวร้ายที่สุดที่เราเคยพบเจอในรอบ 15 ปีที่ทำไร่ดินดีใจมา

แต่เรากลับรู้สึกว่าเป็นเสมือนการเริ่มต้นบางอย่างใหม่ในชีวิต

เป็นอีกบทเรียนหนึ่งที่เราได้ค้นพบว่าการพึ่งพาตนเองได้นั้น สำคัญขนาดไหน

ถ้าเราก็มีพลังใจและสติเพียงพอ

เราจะสามารถที่จะพึ่งพาตัวเองในสถานการณ์หนักๆได้

ได้เห็นเพื่อนบ้านที่แม้ในยามปกติไม่สมบูรณ์แบบอย่างที่เราคาดหวัง 

แต่ในยามสถานการณ์เช่นนี้ เขาเต็มใจช่วยเหลือกัน อย่างเต็มที่สุดกำลัง

ได้เห็นลูกเข้มแข็ง กล้าหาญ เห็นเขาเติบโต สามารถดูแลชีวิตตัวเอง และชีวิตอื่นๆได้…

บางทีชีวิตก็ต้องการให้เรารู้ว่า

ต้องผ่านสถานการณ์หนักๆ

ถึงจะได้เห็นความจริงในชีวิต

และบางทีชีวิต ก็อยากให้เรารู้ว่าปาฏิหารย์นั้นมีอยู่จริง

มันคือสิ่งที่เราลงมือทำ.. ด้วยความเชื่อมั่นในพลังของตัวเองและความดีงามที่มีอยู่จริงบนโลกใบนี้นะ…
